First, we stippled the white card stock using some wadded-up wax paper and the ColorBox pigment inks. There were stipplers at the ready, but the wax paper worked just fine (we've also used Easter Basket grass on tape to stipple before). Starting with the lightest color on both pieces of cardstock (we made four cards) we continued covering each sheet with the other two colors, using a fresh crinkled piece of wax paper for each color.
After the stippling was completed, we used a stylus to mark 5 1/2" on the 11" side of the card stock. The card stock was then cut in half, so that there were four 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" pieces. Then we measured 4 1/4" on the 8 1/2" side and scored the card stock. When all the pieces were scored, we folded on the scores and flattened using a bone folder. While a paper-cutter and card-scorer would make this part easier, a metal-edged ruler, craft-knife and bone folder are really all you need.
When the four cards were folded, we measured out a 1 3/8" square. This square was then traced onto the fronts of the cards in two places: 3/4" from to top left corner and 3/4" from the lower right corner. Marvy makes a Square punch that is the same size and will make quick-work out of this step.
We stamped the inside of the cards through the square holes on the fronts of the cards using ColorBox Violet pigment ink and a Sunday International flower stamp from sheet FS12. The same stamp and pigment were used on the lower left front of the envelopes and then the back flap. Lastly, the stamp was cleaned.
We stamped a sentiment on the squares that were cut-out from the front of the card. The original Paper Crafts 101 logo was printed to fit the front of the card. Then we edged the cut-outs with Violet.
The sentiment and logo were affixed using double-stick tape. The sentiment was placed face down on the opposing--left--side and aligned so that it would not show through the windows. Then, to prevent the sentiment from moving, the right-side of the card card was closed over the left side and pressed into place. The logo was centered on the front of the card using double-stick tape.
